This boutique's collection of sophisticated basics may be just the thing if you want to be both fashionable and comfortable. Try the khaki cotton twill shift dress by American Vintage for $145, or the hammered-silk sundress in Chinese red from Ali Ro ($239), if you want something with a bit more color.

If you need something a little bit fancier than resort-wear for the wedding you'll be attending, visit Velouria to find a lovely array of party-perfect dresses. Two standouts from my visit were a purple floral sleeveless sheath dress with a very "Mad Men" vibe ($160) and a sweet cotton A-line dress in a pastel paintbrush pattern ($150), both by Individual.
